The Future

What can we look forward to in Y2K

What can we expect in the Year 2000? It's of course a very difficult question but the record companies MTM, Now & Then, Frontiers and Z Records by now announces a big variety of artist planned for release during the next Year.
Personally I am looking forward to see:
  • if Journey get their gear together and releases new material with Steve Augheri on vocals
  • what Tyketto (or how they will name Danny Vaughn and the rest of the boys) will be like
  • if House of Shakire will get signed again
  • if Mike Slamer can manage his work in two projects - Steelhouse Lane and Slamer/Thompson
  • what Ricky Philips is up to with Friction
and finally
  • what about Jim Peterik and his World Stage-project ?
Here are some announced highlights from MTM:
Axe will be working and recording in the beginning of 2000, Brian McDonald will see the light of day in March/April, Carl Dixon is also working hard to get his release out, Danger Danger is confirmed at the end of February, Swedish debutants Kharma is scheduled by the end of March, Mark Spiro probably will do an album at the end of 2000, not to forget the planned works of Slamer/ Thompson, Big Bad Wolf, Stun Leer, Unruly Child, Steelhouse Lane, Storyteller, Von Groove and Tower City - just remember Brett Walker 24th of January!

and Z Records:
These are just a few planned releases from among others 24K, Michael Vescera, Badlands, danish White Lion-clones Push, Swedish newcomers Prisoner, the artists formerly known as Tyketto, Damned Nation, Dreamhunter, Aces High and Pontus Norgren.

and Now & Then Frontiers:
I am looking forward to hear new songs from Hugo, Ten and the new euro-american project Transatlantic featuring Vinny Burns and Ted Poley among others!!

I hope it will be a rocking year with good songs, lots of good concert (in Scandinavia too) and the continuing good spirit and enthusiasm among fans, artists and record labels,

Happy 2000
