Press from Frontiers Records 01-February-00: NORWAY is a 4 piece rock band from New Jersey, USA. Founded by Lead Vocalist Glenn Pierson and guitarist Jim Santos, NORWAY plays a diverse style of music which draws from their roots in classic rock sounds of bands like Journey, Nightranger, Def Leppard and Nelson, yet displays their own unique signature songwriting style and sound on each song. Their indie debut album "Night Dreams", was a smash underground hit in Europe among the fans of AOR, Melodic and Hard Rock. Powered by the soaring lead vocals of Glenn Pierson, and the driving, yet melodic guitar work of Jim Santos, "Night Dreams" was named "indie CD of the Year" by rock magazines worldwide and NORWAY was a band to be heard from in the future. "Night Dreams" was mostly a demo collection and was written and performed almost entirely by Glenn and Jim, with Glenn playing keyboards and singing all the vocals, and Jim performing all guitar, bass and drum parts as well as keyboard programming and sequences. In 1993 Joe Slattery joined the group on bass and was followed shortly by Marty Brasington on drums, just in time to contribute their parts for 3 tracks to Night Dreams. The success of "Night Dreams" brought NORWAY worldwide attention which culminated with the group signing a 2 record deal with Now & Then / Frontiers Records. Armed with a collection of great new songs from main songwriters Glenn and Jim, NORWAY traveled to Manchester, UK to record their forthcoming label debut, "Arrival" to the Startracks Studios (home of Ten, Bob Catley, Hugo and other label's artists). Adding to the already powerful mix were 3 new songs co-written with bassist Joe Slattery along with a new harder punch from drummer Marty Brasington. After completing additional tracking in the USA, the album is finally ready for the launch on the market. NORWAY is now hard at work rehearsing for a possible tour, and writing new material.
